This Sunday, February 5th is designated as Scout Sunday around the world. All Scouts and Scouters are encouraged to attend services at their respective churches in their best Class A uniform.

Our annual Scouting for Food drive starts in a little over a week. The troop will be distributing bags door to door on Saturday, Feb 11 and will be collecting donations on Saturday, Feb 18 (before Dev Chanana Eagle COH). Both days, the activities will start at 9:00 am and conclude before noon. All Scouts and Scouters are expected to work at least one of the days. Remember, “many hands make light work”, so the more people we have the quicker we will get done. We need both Scouts and adult drivers. Ideally, we need a driver for every four boys.

It's time to start planning for our bi-annual troop elections which are just two weeks away. The formal elections will be held during the February 20th troop meeting (i.e. the week before the Court of Honor). Attached is a summary of the many leadership positions that are available.

The next two weeks, we will be continuing our Medieval Madness patrol competition. Patrols will research, design and construct a tabletop medieval siege machine of their choice, (e.g. siege towers, battering rams, ballistas, onagers or trebuchets). Machines will be constructed using tabletop logs (pant hanger rods), binders twine and your Boy Scout skills of knots and lashings.

Our next Court Of Honor (COH) is on Feb 27th and the Board Of Reviews (BOR) will start on Jan 30th and continue through Feb 20th.

We received word this week that the District was moving the Camporee due to facilities issues. As a result, we are making some changes to the Spring campout schedule to accommodate. The calendar has been changed to reflect the new dates, locations and activities.
